Registered Nurse - MedSurg Ortho/Neuro

Schedule

This is a 12-hour night shift position with a schedule of 3x12 hour shifts, every other weekend, and every other holiday.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care for patients in a MedSurg Ortho/Neuro unit, supporting a total of 21 beds, with a combination of private and semi-private rooms. The RN will work closely with the charge nurse and participate in routine duties, including patient admissions and discharges, as well as collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions, providing necessary interventions.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy as prescribed.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team for patient care plans.
• Assist with patient admissions and discharges.
• Provide support to nursing aides and PCTs as needed.
• Participate in floating to other MedSurg units as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Knowledge of basic arrhythmias and ability to recognize fatal rhythms.
• Experience working in a MedSurg setting preferred.
