Ultrasonographer / Radiology
The Ultrasonographer is a crucial member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing timely diagnostic services to both inpatients and outpatients under the direction of a Radiologist. This position involves a variety of ultrasound procedures following departmental protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform abdominal and pelvic sonograms, including gynecological and obstetrical procedures.
- Conduct transvaginal sonograms and small part scans, such as thyroid, breast, and scrotum.
- Execute ultrasound-guided biopsies, drainage procedures, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and aspirations.
- Maintain communication with the Radiologist regarding patient needs and imaging results.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during procedures.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited AMA ultrasound program.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
- Current state licensure as a general radiographer or sonographer.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of three years of experience in ultrasound imaging.
Work Schedule
This position typically operates Monday through Friday during the afternoon and evening hours. On-call responsibilities may occur occasionally.
