Medical Assistant Gastro Chardon with Travel

This position is responsible for performing basic Medical Assistant duties. Will be based out of Chardon, but will have travel to Solon and occasionally Portage. Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow. Assist with front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Education: Completion of a Medical Assistant Program AND Highschool Diploma OR GED Equivalent.

Work Experience: 1+ years clinical experience as a Medical Assistant.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Able to communicate effectively with people from varied socioeconomic backgrounds. Able to organize changing work assignments. Medical terminology knowledge.

Licenses and Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.

Physical Demands: Standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, carrying up to 50 lbs, pushing up to 50 lbs, pulling up to 50 lbs, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination.

Travel Requirements: 10% travel to Solon and occasionally Ravenna.
