Civil Structural Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Civil Structural Engineer to join a growing engineering organization supporting complex power, utility, substation, and infrastructure projects . This position offers the opportunity to take a lead role on technically challenging projects while working closely with engineering, project management, construction, and client teams. The ideal candidate brings strong structural engineering expertise, experience with substation or utility-related projects, and the ability to provide technical leadership throughout the full project lifecycle. What You’ll Do Lead structural engineering activities for major substation, utility infrastructure, EPC, and multi-site projects. Perform and oversee complex structural analyses and design evaluations. Develop and maintain structural design standards, workflows, templates, and quality procedures. Apply and interpret applicable structural and utility codes, including ASCE, AISC, ACI, NESC, and related standards . Partner with project managers, construction teams, and clients to resolve technical challenges. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers. Participate in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, proposals, and resource forecasting. Conduct site visits, structural assessments, constructability reviews, and field investigations. Evaluate design changes and provide engineering support during construction and commissioning. Help drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, design tools, and overall project execution. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program. Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain a PE within one year of hire. 12+ years of structural design experience , including experience with substation or utility projects . Strong knowledge of structural design principles, advanced analysis techniques, and multidisciplinary engineering interfaces. Strong understanding of ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318, NESC, and IEEE standards . Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation . Experience with structural analysis software such as STAAD, RISA, SAP2000, ETABS, and L-Pile . Demonstrated ability to lead structural design efforts on large, complex projects. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
