Relocation Assistance: Relocation assistance may be available Clearance Required for Start: Yes Clearance Type: SAP Travel: Yes, 10% of the Time Position Overview Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Sector is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Software Engineer – Software Assurance to join our Research and Advanced Development Team onsite in El Segundo, CA. Key Responsibilities Support the review of all software scans and provide recommendations on removing software flaws. Interact with the software assurance technical discipline organization to ensure the program follows policy and process. Ensure program requirements are met with respect to software assurance, including development of software assurance deliverables. Basic Qualifications Principal Engineer: Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 5 years of engineering experience, or Master’s in STEM with 3 years of experience. Senior Principal Engineer: Bachelor of Science in STEM with 8 years of engineering experience, Master’s in STEM with 6 years, or PhD in STEM with 4 years. Experience with at least one programming language (Java, JavaScript, C++, C#, Python, Swift) and the software development lifecycle. Experience with a configuration management system (Git, GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, Subversion). Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government clearance and Special Access Program (SAP). Willingness to learn and grow in the software assurance discipline. Preferred Qualifications Basic knowledge of containers and cloud technology (AWS, VMWare, Azure, Kubernetes). Basic knowledge of agile processes (Kanban, Scrum, Scrumban). Basic knowledge of security metrics. Basic knowledge of software application security testing, dynamic analysis, software composition analysis, fuzzing, and binary analysis. Basic knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) – NIST SP 800-53r5. Knowledge of Common Weakness Enumeration (CWEs). Knowledge of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs). Benefits and Compensation Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 – $171,000.00 Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 – $213,400.00 Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long‑term incentives for senior positions.
