Sr. Principal Systems Administrator

Location US-CA-EL SEGUNDO-E04 ~ 2006 E El Segundo Blvd ~ BLDG E04 What You Will Do Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous RedHat Enterprise/Microsoft Windows environment. Lead and coordinate Red Hat installation and configuration. Participate in all phases of engineering software installation and support, with emphasis on testing, documentation, and acceptance phases. Collaborate with teams and mentor junior Linux admins. Apply understanding and knowledge of Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods. Work as a team member in a fast‑paced technological environment; use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity, including hardware and OS integration. Participate and lead technical meetings with team members and program personnel representing the organization in functional area matters. Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned. Responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to a Linux/Windows infrastructure for classified programs, including server management, storage management, cross‑platform authentication and access management, data backup and restoration, software and license configuration, and workstation support. Work with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned. Must be able to obtain DoDD 8140 / 8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) within 6 months of start date. Systems are operational 24×7 and may require work beyond standard hours. Full‑time 100% onsite position. Qualifications You Must Have Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required for clearance eligibility. Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Active Directory, WSUS, VMware, and prior systems administration. Experience with server architectures, troubleshooting methods, and assisting in developing solutions and documentation to various technical problems. Experience using vCenter, vSphere, Linux desktops, Windows desktops (Windows 10, 11), Splunk, and ESX or other virtual computing methods. Qualifications We Prefer Active DoD TS clearance, or the ability to obtain one. DoDD 8140 / 8570 certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) and an operating‑system certification. Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF. Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions. Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development. Experience with Microsoft WSUS, SCCM, and/or Exchange.
