Ahtna, Inc. is seeking a business‐minded, mission‐driven Associate General Counsel who is passionate about supporting Alaska Native rights, sustainable business operations, and long‐term shareholder interests. Reporting to the General Counsel, the Associate General Counsel provides practical, solution‐oriented legal support across Ahtna, Inc. and its subsidiaries. This role translates complex legal requirements into workable guidance while honoring Alaska Native culture, lands, subsistence traditions, and corporate values. As a trusted legal advisor, this position plays a key role in day‐to‐day legal operations—supporting contracts, advising business leaders, and helping ensure compliance across a diverse and growing organization. What We’re Looking For: ✔ Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school ✔ Active admission to the Alaska Bar Association ✔ Eight (8) years of experience as a licensed attorney ✔ Strong experience in contract drafting and negotiation ✔ Demonstrated familiarity with ANCSA/ANILCA, Alaska Native legal considerations, subsistence rights, and corporate governance ✔ Experience supporting business operations in federal, commercial, or regulated contracting environments ✔ A collaborative legal professional motivated by purposeful, values‐driven work Salary: $204,952 – $261,314 annually Location: Anchorage, Alaska Comprehensive Benefits Package Includes: • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • Life insurance • 401(k) with 3% company match • Paid time off (PTO) • Company‐paid holidays If you’re an experienced attorney ready to apply your legal skills in service of Alaska Native communities and sustainable business operations, we encourage you to apply or share this opportunity with your network.
