Project Manager

Position Titles This position may be filled as Project Manager, Project Manager Sr, or Project Manager Sr Lead depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Work Location Onsite Legal Entity Entergy Services, LLC Job Summary The Project Manager (PM) within the project delivery organization is responsible for the safe and efficient planning, coordination, execution and closeout of project management activities for all assigned capital projects while achieving cost and schedule certainty. Typical capital projects may involve the construction of new or reconfigured substations, new or rebuilt transmission lines, upgrades to protective relays or telecommunications equipment. The PM manages a diverse portfolio of capital projects while adhering to applicable corporate policies, including the Stage Gate Lite and Stage Gate processes. The role requires working closely with cross‑functional departments to define objectives, develop solutions, establish a solid foundation, and execute the project throughout its life cycle. Responsibilities Lead stakeholders through definition and execution stages of the project life cycle, ensuring timely completion of objectives and adherence to Stage Gate Lite and Stage Gate processes. Engage cross‑functional departments such as Grid/Asset Management, Transmission Planning, Distribution Asset Planning, Design, Construction, Environmental, ROW, Distribution, Telecom, etc. Support development of detailed scopes, cost estimates, milestone schedules, constraint/ risk identification, mitigation plans, outage requirements, construction sequencing, and the Project Execution Plan. Act as the lead point of contact for the project, providing stakeholders with an inclusive platform to collaborate and define or execute objectives. Drive follow‑up items and critical decisions to closure and document them. Communicate project deliverables to appropriate approval levels, leading required Stage Gate review/approval meetings. Schedule and facilitate all meetings with relevant stakeholders, including JET meetings, Stage Gate review meetings, project scrub sessions, and impromptu discussions. Lead and participate in on‑site visits during scoping, pre‑construction planning, and execution. Participate in bid events for construction contracting, evaluating safety, technical, and commercial performance, and approving scope change requests or change orders. Manage project funding and work orders via cost tracking tools, providing cash flows, schedule forecasts, and project updates through monthly status meetings. Represent the company when interfacing with external entities and customers on project‑related matters. Ensure accurate and timely close‑out activities, including RU updates, ENs, ISNs, as‑builts, and organizing/storing project documents. Minimum Requirements Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management (or related field) OR 4 years equivalent/related experience in lieu of a degree. Experience Project Manager: 2 years of experience in Project Management, Construction Management, Electric Utility Industry, or related field. Project Manager Sr: 4 years of experience in Project Management, Construction Management, Electric Utility Industry, or related field. Project Manager Sr Lead: 6 years of experience in Project Management, Construction Management, Electric Utility Industry, or related field. Preferred: 5+ years in Transmission, Distribution, or the utility industry. Skills & Knowledge Commitment to a strong safety culture. Solid understanding of business operations and industry. Strong analytical and communication skills. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Ability to lead large, multi‑disciplinary teams to meet objectives on time. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Preferred Qualifications Knowledge or experience with Stage Gate Lite and Stage Gate processes. Knowledge of Transmission or Distribution Design Standards and Construction/Maintenance practices. PMP Certification. Working Hours & Travel Up to 25% travel.
