Ontic’s Chatsworth, CA, site specializes in precision engineering, MRO, and new solutions for parts at risk of obsolescence. With over 1,400 employees across four time zones and seven sites, we have more than doubled in size since 2019 and are continuing to grow at pace. Our team is looking for a HR Business Partner who can be based in Ontic’s Chatsworth, California office. The Human Resources Business Partner works strategically and serves as a key member of the site senior leadership team, providing trusted advice and coaching to drive organizational success. You will define, develop and implement talent strategies and solutions tailored to the site, ensuring alignment with the Global HR Operating model. Collaborate with the HR Centers of Expertise to deliver consistent and effective HR services, including performance management, organizational design, employee relations, benefits and compensation, talent acquisition, talent management, training, compliance, equality and diversity. Responsibilities Workforce Planning: Collaborate with the Site Leadership Team to develop a strategic workforce plan and headcount budget, evaluate skill needs, build a talent pipeline, and address training requirements in partnership with Learning & Development. Talent Acquisition: Work closely with the Talent Acquisition team to implement attraction strategies and early‑career programs, mentor participants, and optimize development opportunities. Employee Relations: Foster positive relationships with external employee bodies, mediate conflicts, resolve disputes, de‑risk serious ER issues, and up‑skill managers on ER knowledge and local legislation. Engagement: Champion Ontic's culture and values on‑site, promote inclusion, and implement actions to boost employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention. Governance & Risk: Ensure adherence to Ontic HR policies, local employment laws, and industry regulations; mitigate risks and embed continuous improvement. Performance Management: Implement a robust, outcomes‑focused system, oversee the annual cycle, talent reviews, and succession planning. Talent Development: Recommend growth activities and review talent pools to maximize potential and align with business priorities. Learning & Development: Champion talent programs, deliver and facilitate local programs, identify opportunities, and optimize learning resources. Coaching & Mentoring: Guide leaders and managers in developing leadership capabilities and navigating people challenges. Compensation & Benefits: Collaborate with Compensation and Benefits team to align local packages, manage bonuses and salary reviews, and ensure equity within the global framework. Budgeting & Finance: Manage HR budgets with site leadership, including headcount, training, and other HR expenses. Data‑Led Decision Making: Interpret and use data to facilitate decision making and drive performance through KPIs. Change: Drive successful change programs and organizational design, ensuring a positive employee experience as the organization grows and evolves. Qualifications & Skills Minimum 7+ years as an HR Business Partner with a strong track record of aligning HR strategies with business outcomes. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Master’s degree and/or HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP) preferred. Deep understanding of organizational dynamics, change management, and HR best practices. Strong background in talent management, employee relations, and organizational development. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Skilled in leading and managing cross‑functional projects with clear objectives, timelines, and measurable outcomes. Proficiency in HR technology systems (e.g., HRIS, Performance Management Tools) and ability to leverage data and analytics. Benefits Comprehensive medical insurance.
