Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU
Location: Houston, TX
Employment Type: Contract

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. The RN will collaborate closely with physicians and the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care using the nursing process. This role focuses on monitoring patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring safe transitions, and delivering patient-centered care.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams in delivering patient care
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for post-anesthesia patients
• Monitor patient recovery from anesthesia, including vital signs and pain management
• Assist with post-operative examinations and treatments
• Provide patient and family education regarding recovery and care instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation
• Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Respond effectively to changes in patient condition in a fast-paced PACU environment

Must-Have:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Texas
• Minimum 1–2 years of acute care nursing experience
• Experience in PACU, ICU, or surgical recovery setting preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

• PACU experience strongly preferred
• ACLS and PALS certifications
• Experience with post-operative patient care and anesthesia recovery
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems

• Patient assessment and monitoring

• Critical thinking and rapid response
• Patient education and communication
• Clinical documentation
