Automotive Paint Technician

Talascend is currently seeking an Automotive Paint Technician for a contract to hire opportunity with our client in Troy, Michigan .


Overview


The role involves performing exterior paint work on vehicles in a low volume production setting, ensuring production standards are met and utilizing solvent-based paints for various projects.


Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles or parts for paint application, including masking and cleaning to prevent contamination
• Check that vehicles are properly prepped and masked prior to painting
• Weigh and mix paint according to program specifications
• Apply base coat and clear coat to vehicles or components
• Perform color matching and paint blending during refinish repairs
• Complete other duties as assigned by management based on business needs

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license
• High school diploma or GED
• At least 2 years of paint experience in a collision or aftermarket paint setting
• Ability to multi-task while ensuring follow-up and execution of tasks
• Ability to paint entire vehicles while maintaining high quality standards
• High degree of organization and efficiency in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to assist peers, teach, and demonstrate flexibility
• Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
