Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment to support safe, efficient, and reliable production operations.This position responds to equipment breakdowns, performs preventive and predictive maintenance, identifies root causes of equipment failures, and works closely with Production, Engineering, and other departments to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.The successful candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, a safety-first mindset, good problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. **Essential Responsibilities:****Equipment Maintenance & Repair*** Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment and machinery.* Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other equipment repairs as qualified.* Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production-related maintenance issues.* Dismantle, repair, replace, adjust, and reassemble machinery and equipment.* Perform equipment setup, modifications, and installations as needed.* Assist with equipment moves, installations, and start-up activities.* Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend corrective actions. **Preventive & Predictive Maintenance*** Perform scheduled preventive maintenance according to established procedures and maintenance schedules.* Inspect equipment for wear, damage, or potential failure.* Lubricate machinery and replace worn components as required.* Document completed preventive maintenance activities and equipment repairs.* Assist in developing and improving preventive and predictive maintenance programs. **Electrical & Controls*** Troubleshoot electrical systems, motors, sensors, switches, controls, and related components.* Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.* Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment within the limits of training and authorization.* Use electrical test equipment such as multimeters and other diagnostic tools safely and effectively. **Continuous Improvement*** Work with Production and Engineering to identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, safety, quality, and productivity.* Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective-action activities.* Recommend modifications that reduce equipment downtime and maintenance costs.* Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous-improvement initiatives. **Safety & Compliance*** Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.* Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).* Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and other established maintenance safety practices.* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized maintenance work area.* Report unsafe equipment conditions or workplace hazards immediately.* Follow all environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements applicable to the position. **Documentation & Communication*** Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and equipment conditions.* Maintain accurate information in the company's maintenance management system, where applicable.* Communicate equipment issues and maintenance needs effectively to Production and Maintenance leadership.* Maintain appropriate inventory of maintenance parts, tools, and supplies.* Work with outside contractors and service providers as directed. **Qualifications Required:*** High school diploma or GED.* 2+ years of industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience, or equivalent technical training and experience.* Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.* Basic to intermediate electrical troubleshooting skills.* Ability to read mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and electrical schematics.* Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely.* Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance requirements.* Ability to work effectively with production employees, supervisors, engineers, and other maintenance personnel. **Preferred*** Technical school, certificate, or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.* Experience with PLCs and industrial controls.* Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.* Welding and fabrication experience.* Experience with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, and automated manufacturing equipment.* Experience with CMMS maintenance systems.* Experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or other continuous-improvement methodologies.* Experience with CNC Mills and wood processing equipment is preferred* Must be willing to complete course work for machine specific training. **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities*** Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.* Strong electrical/electromechanical troubleshooting skills.* Ability to diagnose problems systematically and identify root causes.* Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics.* Good communication and interpersonal skills.* Strong attention to detail.* Ability to work under pressure in a production environment.* Ability to prioritize emergency repairs while maintaining scheduled maintenance activities.* Strong commitment to safety and quality.* Ability to work effectively as part of a team. **Physical Requirements**The position may require the employee to:* Stand and walk for extended periods.* Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb, and work in awkward positions.* Lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials.* Work around moving machinery, electrical equipment, noise, dust, oils, and other manufacturing-related conditions.* Work from ladders, lifts, or elevated platforms when properly trained and authorized.* Wear required PPE.* Lift up to **55 pounds**, with or without reasonable accommodation. **Work Environment**This position works primarily in a manufacturing/industrial environment and may be exposed to:* Manufacturing machinery and moving equipment.* Electrical and mechanical hazards.* Elevated noise levels.* Heat, cold, dust, oils, lubricants, and other industrial materials.* Variable working conditions associated with equipment breakdowns and production requirements. **Schedule**This position may require:* Shift work.* Overtime as necessary to support production requirements.* Weekend or holiday work as needed.* On-call or emergency response responsibilities, depending on facility requirements. **Performance
