Maintenance Technician

The Housing Authority of the City of Shreveport (HACS) is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician with experience in apartment or residential maintenance. This position is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of housing units and community spaces. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in general maintenance trades, including carpentry, painting, and basic repairs, and will be committed to providing high‑quality service to residents. Key Responsibilities Respond to maintenance requests and complete repairs in residential units and common areas. Perform general maintenance, including carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, appliance, plumbing, and basic electrical repairs. Complete preventative maintenance and inspections to identify and address issues proactively. Prepare vacant units for occupancy. Maintain grounds, landscaping, and common areas, including seasonal cleanup. Ensure compliance with safety standards and report/correct hazards. Maintain work orders, maintenance records, and inventory of tools and supplies. Provide professional customer service and respond to emergency maintenance calls as needed. Qualifications Experience Minimum 2 years of apartment, residential, or commercial maintenance experience. Skills Experience with carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building repairs. Proficient with hand and power tools.
