Responsibilities The primary purpose of this position is: As an Air Reserve Technician (ART) provides an interface between the aircraft maintenance activity and the logistics support activities which provide equipment, supplies, parts and components. Additionally, position provides training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein. 1. Plan, organize and direct the activities of the Decentralized Materiel Support (DMS) function within the Logistics Readiness Squadron, ensuring equipment support complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. 2. Represents unit in working with supply support organizations to determine requirements and the capability of supply to support those requirements. 3. Serves as the Decentralized Materiel Support for assistance on issues concerning Depot Level Reparables (DLRs). 4. Accountability of supply and equipment assets. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Group Standard for Administrative & Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level (or other equivalent pay systems) knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures, techniques, and methods to include requisitioning, requirements, equipment management, inspection activities, demand processing, records maintenance, and customer service. AND FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures, techniques, and methods to include requisitioning, requirements, equipment management, inspection activities, demand processing, records maintenance, and customer service. 2. Knowledge of logistical functions, operations, systems, program requirements, and work methods. 3. Ability to research, compile, and analyze supply information and data; receive, screen, review, verify, and maintain supply documents. 4. Ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve issues and/or deviate from normal supply management procedures or program requirements. 5. Ability to read, interpret, and apply applicable reference material such as regulations, manuals, catalogs, records, orders, etc., to accomplish tasks and resolve problems. 6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Obligated Position: This position is obligated to an individual with return rights from an overseas appointment. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights based on active military service, compensable injury or disability when fully recovered, or return rights based on having served an overseas tour(s). When a position is obligated to an employee it means that he/she has entitlements to that position. In filling the obligated position, the selected employee is required to sign an agreement acknowledging that he/she is aware of the obligation and accepts the fact that he/she may be displaced under reduction in force procedures at a later time. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay.
