Role Summary
Our client, a well-established healthcare organization, is seeking a Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide advanced respiratory care services within a fast-paced clinical environment. This direct hire role involves delivering high-quality patient care, supporting critical and post-acute respiratory needs, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team to improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Provide Advanced Respiratory Care

Administer oxygen therapy and adjust equipment based on patient condition, age, and clinical protocols
Assess, implement, document, and evaluate respiratory therapy plans, including post-discharge care
Deliver respiratory treatments using advanced therapeutic modalities tailored to patient needs
Operate and manage both invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilators with patient safety as a priority
Perform blood gas sampling and analysis, including troubleshooting related equipment
Assist physicians with pulmonary function testing and bronchoscopy procedures
Perform and ensure quality 12-lead EKG acquisition and respiratory equipment checks

Ensure Patient Safety & Regulatory Compliance

Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with regulatory standards
Follow proper patient identification procedures for all treatments and medication administration
Adhere to infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Collaborate in a Clinical Team Environment

Prioritize and manage responsibilities effectively in a fast-paced setting
Respond appropriately to high-pressure or emergency situations
Evaluate patient responses and adjust care plans as needed
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient-centered care
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans with clarity and professionalism
Participate in staff training, mentoring, and onboarding of new team members and students

Support Quality Improvement

Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency
Contribute to maintaining high standards of respiratory care and safety practices

Required Qualifications
Licensure & Certification

Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of New York or eligible for licensure
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC or eligible (must be obtained within required timeframe if not currently held)

Experience

Minimum of 1 year of respiratory therapy experience preferred

Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire

Compensation & Employment Details

Employment Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time
Pay Range: $33.00 - $50.50 per hour (based on experience)
Shift: Evening Shift (72 hours per pay period)
Sign-On Bonus: $25,000 with a 3-year commitment
