Contract, Research Associate I, Translational Biology

We are seeking a motivated Research Associate to support clinical sample management, laboratory operations, and research activities within a regulated clinical research environment. This role will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and service providers to support sample logistics, data tracking, documentation management, and operational processes across clinical and preclinical research programs. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a GCP/GLP-regulated environment, strong organizational skills, and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities Support research and translational science initiatives across a variety of therapeutic and development programs. Coordinate and facilitate clinical sample logistics, including sample tracking, reconciliation, and documentation management. Maintain accurate paper and electronic records related to sample collection, shipment, receipt, and processing. Manage clinical sample databases and tracking systems to ensure data integrity and traceability. Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of centralized systems for sample and consent tracking. Assist with the coordination, distribution, and tracking of clinical trial supplies and materials. Collaborate with laboratory operations teams to reconcile incoming sample shipments across multiple research studies. Support domestic and international research sites with sample management processes and related documentation. Maintain training materials, manuals, and documentation records associated with sample management activities. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), and internal procedures. Partner with Clinical Operations, Data Management, Biostatistics, laboratories, and vendors to support data transfer, analysis, and reporting needs. Build and maintain productive working relationships with external partners, vendors, contract research organizations (CROs), and other stakeholders. Assist with the preparation, review, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical reports, study documentation, and publications. Support departmental metrics tracking and operational reporting activities. Contribute to process improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and data quality. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline. Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical sample management, laboratory operations, clinical research, or a related healthcare or life sciences environment. Experience working within a regulated GCP and/or GLP environment. Strong understanding of sample handling practices, documentation requirements, and quality systems. Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards related to clinical research. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines. Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment. Proficiency with database systems, Microsoft Office applications, and electronic documentation tools. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting clinical trials, translational research programs, or laboratory operations. Familiarity with sample tracking systems, laboratory information management systems (LIMS), or related databases. Experience collaborating with CROs, specialty laboratories, and external vendors. Experience developing training materials, procedural documentation, or operational workflows. Technical writing experience, including SOPs, reports, and study documentation. Exposure to clinical data management, biostatistics, or clinical operations functions. Key Competencies Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
