Equipment Installer

The Equipment Installer supports the construction and outfitting of enclosed trailers and box trucks with high-value commercial spray foam systems. In this role, you build out the interior structures, install spray equipment and generators, and ensure all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components are properly integrated according to basic blueprints and customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the construction and build-out of enclosed trailers and box trucks that house commercial spray foam systems.
• Install wood wall paneling and interior finishes within trucks and trailers.
• Construct stud walls and other framing elements to support equipment and interior layout.
• Terminate, install, and run air plumbing, fluid plumbing, and electrical wiring as part of the spray system installation.
• Install aluminum flooring and trim to create durable, cleanable surfaces.
• Install and bolt spray equipment, generators, air compressors, and related components securely in place.
• Cut openings in aluminum paneling and install intake and exhaust louvers for proper ventilation.
• Use power tools and hand tools, including drills, screwdrivers, saws, and table saws, to cut and customize wood and other materials for each truck or trailer.
• Work initially alongside another installer and then independently to complete assigned builds.
• Follow instructions and build from basic blueprints to meet design specifications and customer requirements.
• Remove existing walls and reinstall them after equipment installation to ensure a clean, finished interior.
• Collaborate with a team to make design and layout decisions that optimize functionality and safety.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area while handling tools, materials, and equipment.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of general mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools in a previous role.
• Ability to read and follow basic blueprints and build instructions.
• Experience or familiarity with framing and carpentry, including constructing stud walls.
• Proficiency using power tools such as drills, saws, and table saws, as well as common hand tools like screwdrivers.
• Comfort with installing and working around electrical wiring, air plumbing, and fluid plumbing.
• Capability to install and secure equipment such as generators, air compressors, and spray systems.
• Ability to work both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to building safe, reliable installations.
• Willingness to perform physically active work and handle materials and tools throughout the day.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in construction, carpentry, or framing is highly beneficial.
• Experience with equipment installation or outfitting vehicles or trailers is a plus.
• Comfort working in a shop environment where projects are customized and may vary.
• Ability to contribute to design and layout decisions and offer practical suggestions.
• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic, with a focus on quality and meeting project deadlines.

Work Environment

This role is based in a shop environment within a family-owned manufacturer that produces and distributes custom spray foam machines for commercial and residential use. You will work in a facility with roughly 20 colleagues in the shop, collaborating closely on builds while also spending significant time working independently. The work involves hands-on installation and construction tasks, so you should expect to get somewhat dirty and plan to get your hands on tools and materials throughout the day. The environment is practical and production-focused, with regular use of power tools, hand tools, and fabrication equipment to customize trailers and trucks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eagan, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
