Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of 2 years of pediatric cardiac/critical care experience for a night shift travel assignment in a pediatric cardiovascular/cardiac ICU setting.

Details

• Position is in a Cardiovascular Pediatric ICU (CVPICU) / Cardiac unit at a pediatric hospital
• Pediatric critical care patient population, including cardiac ICU cases
• Epic EMR experience required
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Floating to different units is a requirement for this position
• No local candidates — candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility

Requirements

• Active RRT credential required
• OH state RRT license required; license must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PICU or CT-PICU experience in a pediatric hospital — this is a hard stop requirement
• Pediatric cardiac ICU experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR required
• Proficiency with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, high-frequency oscillator, and mechanical ventilation weaning
• Experience with nitric oxide (iNO), HFNC, airway management, intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Ability to perform ABG interpretation, chest physiotherapy, nebulizer therapy, and pulmonary hygiene
• Two supervisory references required for consideration (charge nurse references count as only one; at least one reference must be manager/supervisor titled)
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services to critically ill pediatric and cardiac ICU patients
• Responsibilities include medication delivery, aerosol therapy, oxygen therapy, airway suctioning, tracheostomy management, and sputum specimen collection
• Candidates who have previously worked permanently at this facility must have at least a 2-year gap before being eligible
