Clinical Instructor

Position Summary The pharmacy resident will provide evidence-based, collaborative, patient-centered care under the supervision of a preceptor. They will be a self-directed, independent, motivated learner guided by the Residency Program Director and preceptors. The resident will conduct projects to improve the quality of patient care, advance pharmacy practice, evaluate the sustainability of pharmacy services, and provide medication-related education and training to health‑care professionals. Location Florence, SC at Hope Health. Duration One year, July 1 2024 – June 30 2025. Minimum Required Education and Experience PharmD degree from an ACPE‑accredited college or school of pharmacy. Eligibility for licensure as a Pharmacist in the State of South Carolina. Current CPR certification. Qualifications to administer vaccinations according to the SC Board of Pharmacy. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong interpersonal skills, innovative, team player. Leadership skills and organizational ability. Effective presentation and demonstration skills, both theoretical and practical. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with people at all levels of the organization. Job Duties and Responsibilities Promote, manage, schedule, and conduct clinical services in the pharmacy and/or site clinic; engage patients and health‑care providers. (45% of time) Develop a research initiative at the community pharmacy practice site; conduct projects to improve patient care quality, advance pharmacy practice, and evaluate pharmacy service sustainability. (25% of time) Dispense prescriptions, counsel patients on prescription and over‑the‑counter products, and manage pharmacy technicians and interns. (20% of time) Assist with teaching opportunities and responsibilities at practice sites and the College of Pharmacy, including experiential training for students and classroom teaching.
