Come explore Novanta.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform assembly, inspection, testing, calibration, and verification of nano-positioning, electro-mechanical devices, controllers, and related components in accordance with established work instructions, drawings, schematics, test procedures, and quality standards.Operate manufacturing equipment, test equipment, software, fixtures, and hand tools safely and effectively while developing mechanical and electrical assembly skills.Review test results, identify defects or process concerns, perform basic troubleshooting, and escalate issues using appropriate technical documentation and resources.Maintain accurate records of assembly steps, test results, inspections, nonconformances, and production transactions in accordance with documentation requirements.Partner with Production, Quality, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to support procedures, reduce defects, and contribute to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and customer satisfaction goals.Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and CompetenciesFunctional / Technical Skills: Applies the technical knowledge and skills needed to perform assembly and test work safely, accurately, and in accordance with established procedures.Action Oriented: Demonstrates energy, follow-through, and a willingness to learn while completing assigned work and supporting production priorities.Collaborative Team Player: Seeks input, communicates effectively, and works across functions to resolve issues and improve manufacturing execution.Trustworthy: Builds trust through accuracy, transparency, integrity, and disciplined documentation.Continuous Improvement Mindset: Shares observations and supports improvements that help reduce defects, improve procedures, and strengthen process reliability.Physical RequirementsRegularly lift and move up to 10 pounds.Frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds.Occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Specific dexterity abilities required include a steady hand, the ability to handle small objects with care, and force control.Travel RequirementsNone.Compensation and BenefitsThe base pay for this position is starting at $23.00 per hour depending on the geographic market.This position provides an opportunity for competitive quarterly sales compensation based on an achievement to plan.Novanta supports all aspects of your life's needs.
