Heavy-Duty Diesel & Mobile Equipment Maintenance Technician

Compensation: Starting at $33.80/hour

Schedule: 2nd shift | Status: Full-time

Location: 3009 N Laurel Ave, Rialto, CA 92377

A day in the life

When the horn sounds and production gets moving, you’re the expert that keeps our diesel trucks, rolling stock, and shop equipment ready to work. You start by checking the work queue, reviewing schematics, and loading the fuel/lube truck. From there, you’re under a hood one hour, diagnosing an electrical issue the next, swapping tires with air tools before lunch, and finishing the day with preventive services that keep breakdowns at bay. What you’ll do

• Support all activities in our fleet repair operation, servicing gas- and diesel-powered vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance: oil changes, greasing, filter and part replacements.
• Complete minor component swaps and basic repairs under supervision.
• Replace designated lube fittings and tires using hand and air tools.
• Use schematics, service manuals, and parts catalogs to plan and execute repairs.
• Operate a fuel/lube truck to deliver fluids to on-site equipment.
• Proactively follow all safety procedures; maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workspace.
• Show initiative—identify issues early and act to resolve them.
• Check, communicate, and top off essential fluids (battery, power steering, washer) and replace all caps.
• Pitch in with other related duties as assigned.

What you bring

• 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience, including DOT-related knowledge.
• Hands-on PM experience: lube, oil, filters, brakes, and tires (auto, light truck, commercial, and farm), plus fluid flushes.
• Proven ability to locate, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues on gas and diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Skill diagnosing/troubleshooting regeneration systems and electrical systems.
• Proficiency with tools including: standard/metric wrench and socket sets, screwdrivers, hammer, impact gun and sockets, pry bar, alignment toe hooks, air hammer, tape measure, vise grips, torque bits, wheel bearing socket set, 12-volt test light, and oil filter tools.
• Able to lift 50 lbs comfortably; must provide your own tools.
• Experience: Lube Tech (1 year, required) and Truck Tire Installer (1 year, required).

Work environment

Expect frequent exposure to fumes/airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. Noise levels can be loud.

Physical demands

Role requires occasional standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger/handle/feel, reaching with hands/arms, climbing stairs, and talking/hearing. Must occasionally lift or move products and supplies up to 75 pounds.
