Position Overview

This role offers personalized and high-quality evaluations, assessments, prognoses, treatments, and education tailored to each patient's unique needs, guided by medical necessity and clinical indications. Services are delivered across a broad continuum of care, including inpatient acute care, inpatient acute rehabilitation, and outpatient settings. The position requires adherence to professional ethics and standards, maintaining productivity, and fulfilling weekend and holiday duties as needed. Continuous professional development and evidence-based practice are strongly encouraged to ensure clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including compliance with unit safety and infection control protocols.
• Conduct thorough and individualized patient evaluations, assessments, and treatment plans, providing education to patients and their families or caregivers.
• Deliver care in various settings such as inpatient acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient services based on patient and organizational needs.
• Fulfill weekend and holiday work requirements according to employment status.
• Utilize sound clinical judgment to assess all relevant aspects of patient function, develop comprehensive treatment plans, and complete documentation promptly.
• Participate actively as a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Offer mentorship opportunities voluntarily when requested.
• Comply with all applicable laws, policies, and organizational standards while supporting the mission and values of the healthcare organization.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or managers.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred.
• Proficiency in occupational therapy modalities, interventions, and procedures is required.
• Advanced Practice Certification is preferred.
• Competent with standard office equipment and computer software including MS Windows Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and internet applications.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential.
• Excellent customer service skills are required.

Education

• Graduation from an accredited professional school or college with a degree in Occupational Therapy is required.

Licenses and Certifications

• Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the Occupational Therapy Board of California.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider) required upon hire.
• Advanced Practice Certification in Swallowing Assessment, Evaluation, or Intervention and CNT or CNT eligibility preferred for NICU roles.
• Advanced Practice Certification preferred for other areas.
• OTR certification is required.
• NBCOT certification is preferred.

All candidates must successfully complete a physical evaluation, drug screening, and background checks prior to employment. Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination requirements or approved exceptions is mandatory to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
