Associate Athletic Director, Compliance Title: Associate Athletic Director, Compliance Department: Athletics Compliance Overview The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women’s and 10 men’s programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the Big Ten Conference, the nation’s premier academic and athletic conference, after officially joining the league on July 1, 2014. Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Associate Athletic Director for Compliance. The position reports to the Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director and will oversee a staff member while assisting with day‑to‑day operations in conjunction with peer Associate ADs. Key Duties Manages all athletic compliance matters as they relate to one or more high‑profile programs with an emphasis on basketball, including oversight of adherence to Bylaw(s) 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, and 20. Provides timely rules education to all individuals involved within the program(s). Monitors program activities. Provides game day support at home and away contests, ensuring adherence with all NCAA, CSC, Big Ten Conference, and institutional requirements. Manages CAPS and HyperWallet for their respective sports. Manages the Office of Athletic Compliance’s oversight of the Academic Support Services for Student‑Athletes (ASSSA) staff to ensure compliance with all NCAA and Big Ten Conference legislation. Manages and oversees the Office of Athletic Compliance’s comprehensive rules education program which includes educational efforts toward all groups that fall under the purview of NCAA legislation (coaches, staff, student‑athletes, part‑time employees, etc.). Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Five (5) years of minimum relevant experience. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail. Excellent working knowledge of NCAA Division I and CSC rules. Sound working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and LSDBi. Preferred Qualifications Division I campus experience, Division I Conference Office, or the NCAA. Master’s or Law degree. Working knowledge of ARMS, Teamworks, CAPS, and HyperWallet. Computer skills including all Microsoft software, access to NCAA Applications, ARMS, Teamworks, CAPS, HyperWallet, and other presentation software, plus use of a cellular telephone for timely communication.
