Private Brand Manager (ONSITE Goodlettsville, TN - Not Remote)

This is a Private Brands/Private Label sourcing and buying role - not a marketing position. We are specifically seeking candidates with direct experience in one or more of the following areas: Private Brands/Private Label sourcing Private Brands buying Category Management Product Development Candidates whose backgrounds are primarily focused on brand marketing, advertising, digital marketing, communications, social media, or general marketing functions without direct ownership of Private Brand products and categories will not be considered. Dollar General is seeking a Private Brand Manager to drive the development and commercialization of products that delight our customers while delivering sales, profit, and market share growth across key categories. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and highly collaborative professional with direct Private Brands/Private Label experience. In this role, you will lead cross-functional initiatives from concept through commercialization while partnering with Product Development, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Demand Planning, and supplier teams to bring high-quality products to market. You will play a critical role in identifying growth opportunities, optimizing sourcing strategies, improving assortments, and delivering innovative products that strengthen Dollar General's Private Brands portfolio. What You'll Do: Lead the development and commercialization of new Private Brand products while ensuring cost, quality, and timeline objectives are achieved. Partner with Product Development, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Demand Planning, and supplier teams to successfully launch and improve products. Identify category growth opportunities through business reviews, category assessments, trend analysis, and consumer insights. Develop and execute strategies that support sales, profitability, and market share growth. Drive sourcing initiatives and supplier partnerships that deliver innovation, value, and operational excellence. Execute category business plans, including pricing, distribution, and promotional strategies. Collaborate with Demand Planning to maximize in-stock performance and proactively address supply challenges. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external business partners to support continued category growth. What We're Looking For: Direct experience in Private Brands/Private Label sourcing, buying, merchandising, category management, product development, or commercialization Proven ability to manage multiple categories and complex projects simultaneously Strong analytical, business planning, and project management skills Experience bringing products from concept through commercialization Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive business results Knowledge of retail merchandising, consumer trends, and syndicated research Experience working directly with suppliers and external business partners Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or a related field 2+ years of experience in Private Brands, category management, sourcing, product development, commercialization, buying, or merchandising Retail experience strongly preferred Demonstrated success leading cross-functional projects and delivering measurable business results Relocation assistance is available.
