Construction Laborer

Job Summary The Construction Laborer is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving building materials, machinery, and/or tools as necessary to appropriate locations. Works in a construction setting, with outdoor exposure during the workday. This position will ensure timely completion of fence panel installation and assist with concrete pour. The Construction Labor is fast paced, result-oriented, and task oriented with a proactive work ethic and naturally meticulous organizational skills. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations as per project plans/specifications Control traffic passing near, in, or around work zones. Direct vehicle traffic. Shovel materials to and from construction areas Operate vehicles, tools, and equipment as needed, including those with trailers Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, including disposing of waste materials and digging trenches Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, forklifts, skid loaders, and other tools as directed by management Reports safety incidents immediately to Foreman, Safety Director, and/or HR manager Requirements Skillset Able to use a computer and a phone Able to use office equipment (fax, copy machine, scanner) Must be able to move quickly from one area to another Able to operate a vehicle Ability to obtain security clearances Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must exhibit Time management and organizational skills Computer, internet, and software knowledge and skill Dependability and reliability Knowledge of state and federal OSHA regulations/compliance laws Personnel in this position must also Operating hand and power tools Operating construction equipment Operating vehicles, including those with trailers Fence installation Bollard installation Handling rebar Extensive concrete Safety practices on the job site Basic knowledge of modern construction principles Working Conditions The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
