TEMPORARY DISABILITY INSURANCE (TDI)/HEALTH CARE SPECIALIST IV (III, II) - OAHU

Please apply promptly as recruitment may close at any time. Job Levels & Salaries Health Care Specialist IV (SR‑22): $5,369 to $6,535 per month, Step D‑I. 2 years specialized experience. Health Care Specialist III (SR‑20): $4,961 to $6,043 per month, Step D‑I. 1 year specialized experience. Health Care Specialist II (SR‑18): $4,590 per month. No specialized experience required. Consideration may also be given to III and II levels. Duties Summary Health Care Specialist IV: Performs the most difficult and complex health‑care plans review, acceptance activities, and other duties as required. Health Care Specialist III: Reviews and recommends the approval or disapproval of plans and TDI provisions of collective bargaining agreements submitted by insurance carriers and employers to meet state TDI and health‑care laws, rules, and regulations. Health Care Specialist II: Performs the full range of TDI claims examination and denial of benefits review, assists and participates in the review of TDI and health‑care plans, and receives advanced training. Minimum Qualification Requirements Legal authorization to work: U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment. Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university; equivalent experience may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis. General experience: ½ year of progressively responsible professional or analytical work in claims examination, including fact‑finding, analysis, and evaluation. Specialized experience: Level IV – 2 years; Level III – 1 year; Level II – none. Must include knowledge and application of Temporary Disability Insurance and/or Pre‑paid Health Care laws, rules, and regulations. Demonstrated ability to write clear, comprehensive reports, interpret complex written material, and solve complex problems logically and systematically.
