Work Environment

The position is located in our modern outpatient clinic in Islip, New York. The clinic's layout emphasizes patient comfort while providing the latest tools and facilities necessary for effective therapy. Working onsite, you will collaborate with a supportive team of fellow physical therapists, occupational therapists, and administrative professionals in a lively and engaging setting. This role requires a standard work schedule of Monday to Friday, with flexible hours available, either from 9 am to 5 pm or 8 am to 4 pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients' physical conditions to identify mobility and strength impairments.
• Develop individualized treatment plans that utilize multiple therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy, targeted exercises, and modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation.
• Deliver high-quality treatment sessions focusing on enhancing physical function, reducing pain, and improving overall patient well-being.
• Involve patients in their rehabilitation process by educating them on their conditions, treatment options, and home exercise plans to encourage active participation in recovery.
• Engage in clinical instruction, guiding physical therapy interns, residents, and other clinical staff to foster a learning environment.
• Collaborate with management to identify and propose evidence-based clinical research initiatives relevant to orthopedics.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinic primarily serves individuals with orthopedic conditions, including joint replacements, sports injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and chronic pain disorders. As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, you will work with a diverse patient population, ranging from active adults to seniors, each with unique rehabilitation needs and goals aimed at restoring their independence and mobility.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
• An active Physical Therapy license in the state of New York is mandatory.
• A minimum of two years of clinical experience in orthopedic physical therapy is necessary to excel in this role.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential to effectively interact with patients and their families.

Preferred Experience

• Board Certification in Orthopedic Physical Therapy is highly desired.
• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessment techniques and treatment planning strategies tailored to diverse patient needs.

Compensation and Benefits
