Associate Veterinarian Responsibilities
As an Associate Veterinarian (DVM/VMD), you will work closely with our veterinary team to provide high-quality medical care, client communication, diagnostics, surgery, and patient management.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Performing wellness examinations and preventive care
- Diagnosing and treating sick or injured animals
- Developing treatment plans and medical recommendations
- Performing routine surgeries and dental procedures
- Interpreting diagnostic imaging and laboratory results
- Managing hospitalized and surgical patients
- Educating clients on treatment options, wellness care, and preventive medicine
- Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records
- Collaborating with Licensed Veterinary Technicians and hospital team members
- Supporting hospital growth, workflow, and patient care standards
- Following hospital safety and infection control protocols
What We’re Looking For
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Active New York veterinary license or eligibility for licensure
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Compassionate, dependable, and client-focused approach
- Comfortable with routine surgery and dentistry preferred
- Strong medical decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Interest in continued learning and professional growth
- Willingness to participate in shared on-call or extended-hour coverage as needed
