Associate Veterinarian Responsibilities

As an Associate Veterinarian (DVM/VMD), you will work closely with our veterinary team to provide high-quality medical care, client communication, diagnostics, surgery, and patient management.

Daily responsibilities include:

• Performing wellness examinations and preventive care
• Diagnosing and treating sick or injured animals
• Developing treatment plans and medical recommendations
• Performing routine surgeries and dental procedures
• Interpreting diagnostic imaging and laboratory results
• Managing hospitalized and surgical patients
• Educating clients on treatment options, wellness care, and preventive medicine
• Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records
• Collaborating with Licensed Veterinary Technicians and hospital team members
• Supporting hospital growth, workflow, and patient care standards
• Following hospital safety and infection control protocols

What We’re Looking For

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary school
• Active New York veterinary license or eligibility for licensure
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Compassionate, dependable, and client-focused approach
• Comfortable with routine surgery and dentistry preferred
• Strong medical decision-making and problem-solving abilities
• Interest in continued learning and professional growth
• Willingness to participate in shared on-call or extended-hour coverage as needed
• New graduates are encouraged to apply — mentorship available
