Job Summary
Step Down Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) Omaha, Nebraska
A Registered Nurse is needed for a Step Down Unit providing care to adult patients across Oncology, PCU, and Med-Surg levels of care. The role includes monitoring and titrating select therapies as clinically indicated, supporting ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring needs, and participating in structured hourly rounding. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights (12 hour shifts); minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Drivers license; ACLS (American Heart Association) (AHA); BLS (Basic Life Support) (BLS); ONS/ONCC; minimum experience requirement of 0 years; active RN license submission required
• Preferred Qualifications: ONS/ONCC certification; chemotherapy certified (preferred)
• Responsibilities:
  • Deliver care for adult Oncology, PCU, and Med-Surg patients within an acute care setting
  • Perform required bedside monitoring and support titration needs for select drips/medications (including insulin occasionally and cardizem)
  • Manage and monitor ventilator-related needs and hemodynamic monitoring (including CVP, A-line, Swan, and EV-1000) as applicable
  • Support care needs that may include ICP-related monitoring (training available as stated)
  • Participate in hourly rounding
  • Float may be required to Med-Surg and PCU units within the same level of care
• Certifications and Competencies: Ventilator competency and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000); ICP (trainable real time as stated)
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
