Stop by during either hiring event for an  on-the-spot interview and potential same-day hire . Qualified candidates may be scheduled for  orientation later that day or during the following week , depending on availability and onboarding requirements.

Bring your driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and any applicable caregiver/HHA/PCA credentials.

This position is for multiple locations! We service cases in Bayport, Blue Point, Bohemia, Centereach, Central Islip, Coram, East Setauket, Holbrook, Holtsville, Islandia, Islip Terrace, Kings Park, Lake Grove, Mt. Sinai, Nesconset, Northport, Oakdale, Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma, St. James, Sayville, Selden, Hauppauge, Smithtown, Stony Brook, West Sayville, and areas farther east.

Requirements for the job: Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle with up-to-date insurance, and experience working with seniors.

What does a day in the life of a caregiver look like? Providing a helping hand.

• Have fun and engaging conversations with your clients to build relationships

• Participate in your clients’ favorite hobbies, including scrapbooking, gardening, games, and more

• Prepare meals for your clients to enjoy

• Assist your clients with walking, dressing, and other activities of daily living

• Report what activities were completed with your clients and provide updates on your clients’ physical condition, mental capacity, and behavior

SOME OF THE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

• Meal preparation

• Companionship

• Medication reminders

• Light housekeeping

• Follow client care plans and provide updates as needed

• Fall-risk oversight

• Taking clients to appointments, food shopping, and errands as needed

• Uphold the standards of Age-Friendly Care at Home (AFCH) certification by delivering personalized, respectful care that aligns with the 4Ms framework — What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility — and adhering to all Senior Helpers and APFM policies and best practices
