Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you support the Operations Maintenance team by installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated packaging and distribution equipment. You apply your expertise in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to keep automation systems running reliably, while also mentoring junior technicians and promoting a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain material handling equipment (MHE) and pneumatic systems throughout the facility to ensure consistent and reliable operation.

• Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, including conveyors, sorters, and robotics systems.

• Perform predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on mechanical and controls equipment to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.

• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with material handling equipment, including both mechanical and electrical components, to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

• Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to support installation, maintenance, and repair activities.

• Apply and consistently demonstrate safety standards while performing all maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with established procedures and guidelines.

• Use maintenance management tools and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to plan, track, and document maintenance activities.

• Support conveyor maintenance, including inspection, adjustment, and repair of belts, rollers, motors, and control systems.

• Assist with automation and control systems maintenance, including basic data analysis to monitor equipment performance and identify trends.

• Contribute to maintenance planning and risk management by identifying potential issues and recommending improvements.

• Mentor junior technicians by sharing technical knowledge, demonstrating best practices, and supporting their development in maintenance and troubleshooting skills.

• Collaborate with the broader operations and maintenance teams to support projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and efficient material handling operations.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office products and applications.

• At least 2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.

• At least 2 years of experience repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment.

• At least 2 years of experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics.

• At least 2 years of experience consistently demonstrating and following safety standards.

• At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting and performing diagnostics on material handling equipment (MHE).

• Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and mechanical troubleshooting in an industrial or automation environment.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with maintenance management and preventative maintenance planning.

• Hands-on experience with conveyor maintenance, sorters, robotics, and material handling systems.

• Familiarity with automation and control systems, including basic data analysis to support performance monitoring.

• Exposure to project management and continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma.

• Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage work orders and maintenance records.

• Strong risk management awareness when working with automated and mechanical systems.

• Ability to mentor and provide guidance to junior technicians or team members.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Shreveport, LA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $61568.00 - $61568.00/yr.

Permanent employee - eligible for benefits right away. Clean climate controlled, 401k, medical, dental, vision, 48 hrs of PTO, 80 hrs of vacation, 1 hour of unpaid time off each week
