About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to spearhead its enterprise growth through the strategic development of new inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, joint venture partnerships, and targeted acquisitions. The CDO will be responsible for leading the national growth strategy, identifying and assessing new market opportunities, and establishing multi-year development pipelines. This executive will also oversee the de novo development process, including site selection, compliance with regulations, and managing project delivery. Additionally, the role involves sourcing and structuring joint venture agreements, as well as leading the acquisition process for facilities that align with the company's growth objectives. Candidates for the CDO position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a Master’s degree strongly preferred, and a minimum of 10-15 years' experience in healthcare development, particularly in inpatient rehabilitation or post-acute care. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in successful de novo healthcare facility development, joint venture formation, and a deep understanding of healthcare real estate, market analysis, project management, and regulatory compliance. Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential, as is experience in executive collaboration and the ability to prepare and present business cases at the board level. The CDO will also be expected to lead and develop a high-performing team of development professionals and external consultants.
