Accounts Receivable SpecialistTEGNA, one of the most geographically diverse broadcasters in the U.S., is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Shared Services team. This position will be part of the TEGNA corporate team with company-wide responsibility but will be physically located at our NBC Affiliate in Indianapolis, WTHR. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the accounts receivable sub-ledger for assigned stations/accounts. Additionally, in collaboration with collector and stations sales, the Specialist will resolve credit balances – refund, application, or transfer. Overall, this position is responsible for a "clean" aging providing collectors accurate balances when making their collection calls.Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:Identify balances needing adjustment and prepares online adjustment requests for routingWork with station personnel to move adjustment requests through the process per policyReconcile customer receivable accounts and timely applies prepayments to invoicesResearch and reconcile account balances and account activity per station/customer requestProvide account statements upon requestConduct research for short pay discrepancies and resolve to proper next actionsBuild and maintain positive relationships with station personnel and collectorsProvide a high standard of customer service to both internal and external customersRequirements:High School Diploma or GED2 years of active experience with accounts receivable balances using an aged balance report as the primary source tool in a high-volume entry environment with responsibility for hundreds of accounts and collaborating with remote personnelKnowledge of the accounting journal entry resulting from actions taken to resolve balancesUnderstanding of cash application and AR procedures and is a "numbers" personAbility to quickly learn and achieve proficiency in new software applications as neededStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing prioritiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills including superior customer service skillsProfessionalism and strong work ethicStrong time-management and organizational skillsPreferred Qualifications:Two or four-year degree4 or more years of experienceIntermediate Excel skills – comfort exporting to Excel and manipulating resultsBroadcast Industry experienceWide Orbit Software experienceBenefits:TEGNA offers comprehensive benefits designed to safeguard the physical, mental and financial health of our employees and their families.
