Department Manager

Responsibilities Managers lead shifts every week, making sure customers get a fast, accurate, friendly experience every visit. Some managers also lead Departments, managing assigned Systems such as Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management, setting goals, delegating tasks to their teams, following up, and reporting results back to their team and other managers. The Guest Service Department Manager’s responsibilities may include making sure Crew and Managers deliver a great customer experience, that sales promotions are done well, that all service staff are trained in service procedures, and that the Front Counter McCafé and Drive-Thru areas are organized for the best service. The Kitchen Department Manager’s responsibilities may include ensuring the restaurant delivers high-quality food to customers quickly, food safety, controlling food cost, and that all kitchen staff are trained in production procedures, including new items added to the menu. The People Department Manager’s responsibilities may include hiring qualified crew, training them, scheduling them to meet restaurant sales and profit goals, ensuring crew start the day well, and recognizing and motivating them throughout their time at the restaurant. Qualifications Previous managerial experience is preferred, ideally within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment. Candidates should be positive team players with flexible schedules who enjoy a fast‑paced environment. Must be 18 years or older to be a manager in our restaurants. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Must be able to perform general cleaning including sweeping and mopping, reaching up to clean the tops of equipment. Must be able to stand for the entire shift up to 8 hours. Must be ServSafe certified and have attended McDonalds training classes.
