Huntsville Hospital Urgent Care Medical AssistantHuntsville Hospital Urgent Care is looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team in Madison, AL. This is a temporary assignment, expected to last around 120 days, with the potential to transition to a full-time, permanent position in the future.JOB SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant provides clinical care to patients in urgent care, occupational health, and workers' compensation settings. Responsibilities include initial evaluations, x-ray testing, and preparing patients for provider evaluation by recording histories, vital signs, and documentation while recognizing acuity levels for appropriate intervention.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.Greet patients promptly and provide clear communication about next steps and wait timesOffer solutions to patient concerns and seek help in emergent or hazardous situationsEnsure timely follow-up for lab and x-ray results; execute follow-up calls with urgencySupport front desk staff with check-in and check-out procedures when neededAccurately document vital signs, histories, medications, allergies, and other pertinent detailsAssist with patient transfers, procedures, and lab work under provider supervisionPrepare and shoot X-Rays, ensuring proper positioning, safety, radiation protection, and shieldingComplete all required visit documentation and maintain stocked, clean exam roomsAdhere to infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality standardsPerform phlebotomy, injections, and other clinical procedures as trained and directedWHAT'S THE SCHEDULE? Full-time team members work a rotating 36-40 hour/week schedule, consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend. Our PRN (per diem) team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.WHAT'S REQUIRED?
