Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Rotating Days/Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00–19:30 (Days) / 19:00–7:30 (Nights) | Every Other Weekend Rotation | Holidays as Needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit serving an adult and geriatric population under a Family Medicine service, with a variety of conditions and diagnoses
• Care for patients including those from Department of Corrections facilities within a secured, locked wing; staff are always accompanied by a DOC officer when assisting these patients
• Perform IV insertions and manage telemetry monitoring for assigned patients
• Float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements
• Participate in rotating day/night scheduling, with no more than 2 shift flips per 6-week scheduling period and a minimum of 36 hours off between a night shift end and a day shift start for patient care
• Pass a Telemetry competency exam prior to assignment start

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• BLS certification required – American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care inpatient RN experience within the last 3 years in Medical Surgical/Telemetry
• Demonstrated experience starting IVs required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must pass a Telemetry exam prior to start (adult and pediatric components; passing score of 80% or higher with 100% identification of lethal rhythms; maximum of three attempts)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; locals are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with geriatric populations
• Familiarity with Department of Corrections patient care protocols or secured unit environments
• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
