Warehouse Supervisor

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Shift Supervisor to join our team in Old Lyme, CT. The Warehouse Supervisor will work under the direction of the Shift Manager to coordinate the daily activities of the warehouse operation, including but not limited to picking, packing, shipping, receiving, transferring, sanitation, safety and maintenance. Position available on Day Shift: Monday through Thursday, 4:30 pm start. Essential Functions Coordinate the scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper staffing and efficient completion of multiple tasks. Timely release and sort work for processing with defined priority. Ensure work is processed accurately and promptly to maximize the customer experience. Recommend ways to improve warehouse productivity and accuracy. Assist management in establishing budgets as needed and adhere to budget requirements. Report all IT issues immediately so a ticket can be created. Work with the BDM and Night Warehouse Manager to maintain equipment, supplies and facilities; communicate needs for replacements and upgrades. Enforce Safety Program initiatives to provide a safe and clean workplace in compliance with OSHA, state and local requirements. Support and participate in the organization’s Continuous Improvement Program. Exercise supervisory authority with regard to training, coaching, performance issues, timekeeping and career development. Collaborate with the BDM and Night Warehouse Manager on escalated performance issues, terminations, merit increases, performance appraisals and promotions. Perform other related duties as assigned by building leadership and/or divisional management. Required Qualifications Ability to multi-task, delegate responsibilities and oversee multiple priorities effectively. Good verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization. Experience with mediation and conflict resolution, and associated documentation. Flexible schedule as required to fulfill business needs; excellent attendance required. Preferred Qualifications High school diploma; college degree preferred. Minimum 2-4 years experience in warehouse supervision, preferably in progressive roles with a broad range of responsibilities. Experience with forklifts and other material handling equipment. Computer experience (Word, Excel, email, etc.) necessary; AS400 experience a plus. Fleet management and/or Hazmat experience a plus. Experience supervising a team. Working Conditions The employee frequently stands, walks, bends, stoops, balances, and uses arms and hands to reach, pull, push, clasp and move materials. Walkways are concrete and/or metal grating. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently. The warehouse environment may be hot or cold and dusty. Compensation The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $70,000‑78,000. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, relevant experience, business needs and geographic location.
