Duties

• Reviews, evaluates and implements design or technical studies as appropriate.
• Prepares accurate cost estimates and requirements packages for approval.
• Takes corrective action to alleviate any significant disruption situations.
• Ensures implementation of comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
• Ensures repairs are made immediately to nonfunctioning or improperly operating equipment or systems.
• Serves as Contracting Officer's Representative for the Operation and Maintenance Engineering Enhancement Program.
• Reviews projects for constructability and potential operational impacts.

Requirements Conditions of employment

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• A pre-placement medical examination is required.
• This position is designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing a maintenance program for the infrastructure, utility systems, and/or equipment of a facility; and conducting facility inspections to ensure compliance with safety guidelines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
• OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration.
• OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
