DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position focuses on evaluating potential claims, identifying responsible parties, and supporting the recovery of medical assistance funds. As a Third Party Liability Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
- Claim Review: Analyze referrals and determine whether benefits were issued incorrectly
- Case Investigation: Collect information from attorneys, insurers, providers, and other parties to support claim decisions
- Regulation Research: Interpret state and federal laws to guide claim analysis and determine responsible parties
- Settlement Negotiation: Discuss cases with interested parties and recommend fair settlement amounts
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate case files and document important updates for future reference
- Data System Use: Access and interpret information in electronic systems to support claim assessments
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of technical experience collecting, reviewing, or evaluating information for program eligibility or insurance limits of liability; or
- A bachelor's degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
