Job Overview This position administers flu vaccines during employee flu fair events and provides care under the Licensed Practical Nurse Act. Education Completion of an accredited LPN program. Work Experience None required. Certifications Current LPN License in the state of practice. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Proficiency with Windows-style applications, various related software packages, and keyboard use. Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and professionally. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent time‑management skills. Job Duties Administers flu vaccines. Disposes of bio‑hazardous waste in the appropriate and prescribed manner. Assists with setup and dismantling of flu fair event site. Ensures appropriate consent forms are completed prior to flu vaccine administration. Performs other related duties as required. Physical and Environmental Demands The physical demands include occasional lifting of 50–100 pounds, frequent lifting of 25–50 pounds, and continuous lifting of 10–20 pounds. The role requires walking or standing for a significant amount of time and may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluids, tissue, communicable diseases, hazardous medications or waste.
