Honeymoon Sweets European Bakery, located in Tempe, AZ, is looking for an Executive Pastry Chef to lead our talented team.

At Honeymoon Sweets, we specialize in creating exceptional European-style pastries, cakes, and baked goods. Our bakery is a cornerstone of the Tempe community, known for our dedication to quality, creativity, and tradition. We’re a full-time operation with an immediate opening for the right candidate to join our team.

As our Executive Pastry Chef, you’ll take the reins of our pastry kitchen. This is a hands-on role where you’ll lead by example, working alongside your team to ensure excellence in every product. Here’s a glimpse of your responsibilities:

• Oversee Pastry Production : Manage daily production schedules, including mixers, ovens, and walk-in pars. Lead and grow pastry team.
• Master the Foundations : Lead the execution foundation recipes for sponge cakes, buttercream, ganache, fillings, soaks, and viennoiserie/breakfast dough (mix, makeup, freeze, bake-off).
• Manage Pastry Case and Wholesale Tickets : Ensure consistent quality and timely delivery of all orders.
• Train and Develop Your Team : Share your expertise to ensure multiple team members can mix batches and finish tickets with precision.
• Maintain Standards : Handle food costs, ordering, labeling, and dating while adhering to Maricopa health standards.
• Collaborate with Cake Décor Management : Work closely with the cake décor department to maintain seamless operations.

We’re looking for a pastry chef with a proven track record of leadership and production expertise. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

• Experience : At least 5 years in a leadership role such as Executive Pastry Chef, Head Pastry Chef, or Pastry Sous Chef in charge of a department.
• High-Volume Production Skills : Experience with large mixers, sheet pans, hotel pans, and wholesale or high-volume pastry production.
• Organizational Expertise : Ability to write and implement recipes, create production boards, and assign tasks effectively.
• Team Leadership : A history of training and managing a crew to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
