A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Business Data Analyst

Position type: Full-time, Contract
Duration: 5 months, possible extension
Location: Plano, TX - Hybrid

Position Overview
We're looking for a curious, data-driven storyteller who thrives on turning numbers into meaningful insights. As a Business Data Analyst, you'll join our innovative team in Plano, Texas (hybrid setup), where your expertise in Power BI and SQL will help shape strategic decisions and fuel business growth.
In this role, you won't just analyze data you'll unlock its potential, collaborate with diverse teams, and bring clarity to complex business questions through impactful visualizations and actionable recommendations.

What You'll Do

• Transform Data into Insights
• Own the end-to-end analysis process within your projects-dig into the data, uncover trends, and deliver insights that drive real business impact.
• Partner with Stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership to understand business goals, define KPIs, and translate requirements into powerful data solutions.
• Create Compelling Visual Stories
• Design and maintain intuitive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Tableau, making complex data simple, engaging, and easy to act on.
• Leverage SQL Expertise
• Write and optimize advanced SQL queries to efficiently extract, transform, and analyze data from diverse sources.
• Ensure Data Integrity
• Champion data quality by implementing validation checks and ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability in every deliverable.
• Drive Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, automate processes, and enhance overall data efficiency.
• Communicate with Impact
• Present insights in a way that resonates with both technical and non-technical audiences, fostering transparency and informed decision-making.
• Support Business Growth
• Contribute to strategic initiatives by identifying trends, providing recommendations, and enabling data-driven business opportunities.
• Document & Standardize
• Maintain clear documentation of data sources, methodologies, and reporting practices to ensure scalability and consistency.

What You Bring
Education
A bachelor's degree is required (quantitative fields like Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics are a plus-but talent and experience matter most).
Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on experience working with real-world business data
• Strong track record of delivering actionable insights
• Experience in contract or part-time data roles is a bonus

Your Technical Toolkit

• Expertise in Power BI and solid experience with Tableau
• Strong command of SQL (complex query writing & optimization)
• Familiarity with Snowflake is a plus
• Knowledge of Python or R (nice to have)
• Understanding of data modeling and ETL processes
• Comfortable working with large datasets and modern database systems

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*: $40.00 - $42.00 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
