Job Title: Automation ManagerLocation: Edinburgh, IN on-siteCompensation: $90k - $120k base plus 100% Employer Paid MedicalRequirements: BS in Engineering, 5+ years in Industrial Automation Engineering Leadership in Manufacturing setting, PLC Programming/HMI, AGV's, UR'sPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Automation Manager to lead and grow our automation engineering function within a manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for designing, implementing and commissioning control systems and automated material handling solutions (including PLCs and AGVs), optimizing production through industrial automation, and ensuring projects meet safety, quality, and timeline targets. The Automation Manager will drive continuous improvement, coordinate cross functional teams, and support integration of Industry 4.0 technologies to increase efficiency, reliability and throughput.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, implementation, and optimization of automated manufacturing systems.Manage robotics, conveyors, AGVs, end-of-arm tooling, PLCs, HMIs, and related control systems.Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and downtime reduction.Partner with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to identify automation opportunities.Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs for automation equipment.Troubleshoot complex automation issues and lead root cause analysis efforts.Supervise, mentor, and train automation and maintenance personnel.Manage relationships with automation vendors, integrators, and technology partners.Maintain system documentation, programming backups, and technical standards.Build business cases and ROI analyses for automation and capital improvement projects.QualificationsBachelors degree in Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics or related Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).Minimum 5+ years of hand-son experience in industrial automation within a manufacturing environment.inProven experience with PLCs/ PLC Programming and control platforms (required); experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and Siemens is highly desirable.Experience with injection molding automation, material handling systems, conveyors, and/or AGVs.Knowledge of sensors, pneumatic systems, and end-of-arm tooling.Proven project management and team leadership skills.Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication abilities.Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.Not required but we love to see:Exp with Industry 4.0 implementationsCAD/Industrial Design, injection molding automation, tooling, integration experience,MES, Vision systems, Conveyor Systems and familiarity with PLC programming standards.BenefitsBase Salary100% employer paid Medical DentalVisionLong and Short Term disability401k with matchProfit SharingPTOAnd much more!
