Surgical Technology Program Director

What You’ll Do

• Lead the day-to-day academic and operational oversight of the Surgical Technology program
• Hire, onboard, train, coach, and evaluate Surgical Technology instructors and laboratory assistants
• Manage instructor schedules, teaching assignments, and workloads
• Maintain teaching assignments and substitute when needed
• Ensure curriculum aligns with industry standards, certification requirements, and accreditation expectations
• Lead curriculum and program reviews and facilitate Occupational Advisory Committee meetings
• Monitor student attendance, academic progress, retention, graduation, and certification outcomes
• Develop strategies to improve student success and program outcomes
• Maintain compliance with CAAHEP and ARC/STSA accreditation standards
• Prepare and maintain accreditation reports, documentation, and outcomes data
• Build relationships with healthcare employers, clinical education sites, vendors, certification organizations, and professional associations
• Support clinical education opportunities, employment connections, and program growth

What You’ll Bring

• Graduate of a nationally programmatically accredited Surgical Technology program
• Associate degree
• Current CST certification through an NCCA-accredited certification agency
• At least 5 years of experience within the past 10 years in operating room scrub experience, Surgical Technology teaching, or a combination of both
• Documented education or experience in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and program planning
• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills

Prior experience as a Program Director, Clinical Coordinator, or Lead Instructor is preferred, as is experience with CAAHEP or ARC/STSA accreditation.
