Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Acute Care Location: Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital – Tullahoma, TN Schedule: 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM), flexible coverage for PTO, schedule provided at least 2 weeks in advance. Weekend staffing needs are higher. Job Summary Responsible for administering and directing appropriate Physical Therapy interventions as prescribed by a qualified physician and directed by a licensed Physical Therapist. Responsible for effective communication and accurate documentation. Displays professional behavior in accordance with APTA Code of Ethics and CHS philosophy of service. Key Responsibilities Administer and direct appropriate physical therapy interventions as prescribed by a physician and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist. Deliver high-quality care to patients with acute medical conditions. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards. Uphold professional conduct aligned with the APTA Code of Ethics and Vanderbilt Health’s values. Qualifications Active Tennessee PTA license required. Experience in acute care or hospital-based physical therapy preferred. Strong communication and documentation skills.
