Mentor engineers and shape technical direction in a dynamic environment.Job DescriptionChief Software Engineer OverviewLead technical direction and software architecture for robotics and autonomous systems as a Chief Software Engineer.Provide hands-on leadership in software design, coding, debugging, and integration for complex systems.Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to align architecture, interfaces, and system performance.Establish engineering standards, development practices, and technical review processes organization-wide.Drive improvements in software reliability, testing, and development velocity for scalable solutions.Mentor senior engineers and foster technical leadership capabilities within the organization.Serve as a trusted advisor on software architecture, system design, and engineering strategy.Contribute to cutting-edge advancements in robotics, autonomy, and embedded computing systems.Chief Software Engineer Key Responsibilities & DutiesDefine and own software architecture for robotics and embedded systems.Lead software initiatives from concept through deployment and validation.Contribute to high-risk areas using C++ and Python programming.Architect systems integrating perception, controls, and embedded computing.Drive alignment across engineering teams on technical direction and architecture.Identify and mitigate technical risks and make critical engineering tradeoffs.Partner with product teams to translate objectives into scalable architectures.Lead technical reviews, investigations, and debugging efforts.Mentor engineers and develop organizational technical leadership.Chief Software Engineer Job Requirements12+ years of software engineering experience, with leadership roles preferred.Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or related technical field.Proficiency in C++ and Python for complex systems development.Expertise in software architecture, system design, and performance optimization.Experience integrating software with multidisciplinary engineering systems.Knowledge of software engineering practices, testing, and CI/CD workflows.Ability to influence technical decisions and align teams without formal authority.Exceptional problem-solving, judgment, and communication skills.Preferred experience with robotics, autonomy, or embedded systems software.
