Fleet Shop Manager

Actively seeking a Fleet Shop Manager position for a fleet maintenance facility in Orlando, FL. This is a hands-on management role overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance on a fleet of approximately 1621 trucks. The successful candidate will manage three technicians, maintain quality control, mentor staff, and handle supplier and dealership relationships across Florida operations, including occasional travel to Jacksonville. This is a newly built, well-equipped facility with five service bays, modern diagnostics tools, and a strong emphasis on preventive maintenance planning.RequirementsMust-haves: 3+ years of shop foreman or fleet maintenance leadership experience Demonstrated decision-making and communication skills Preventive maintenance (PM) experience is critical ASE certifications (relevant to heavy-duty trucks) Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or willingness to obtain one with company support Ability to work hands-on: diagnostics, quality control, mentoring technicians, and occasional wrench work Knowledge of truck systems Experience with driveline, brake, suspension, and electrical systemsNice-to-haves: Refuse truck or refuse fleet experience Experience managing preventive maintenance programs Familiarity with fleet management software and diagnostic tools Willingness to relocate to Orlando areaCompensation & Benefits Salary: $100,000$130,000/year (based on experience) Car allowance or Company Vehicle: for on-call mobility and supplier/dealership visits Relocation support: Moving expenses and up to three months' accommodation for qualified candidates relocating to the area PTO: 15 working days/year (increases to 20 after five years) accrues from day one Sick leave: 6 days/year Health/dental/vision insurance: Company covers 70% of premiums employee contributes 30% 401(k): Safe harbor plan with 3% company contribution regardless of employee contribution No bonus structure (base salary is prioritized for competitive positioning)Hours Schedule: Flexible start time between 10:00 AM11:00 AM 89 hour days On-call requirement: Yes position holder will be the point of escalation for urgent issues Travel: Some travel required to vendor sites and Jacksonville secondary location Work environment: Hands-on shop-floor presence required office located within the shop (not separate corporate office)#MHS #J-18808-Ljbffr Mechanics Hub
