Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the medical-surgical unit, including assessment, monitoring, and interventions for adult patients
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy, including high‑risk infusions as ordered, and monitor patient responses
• Document care in the electronic medical record, update care plans, and communicate changes to the interdisciplinary team
• Monitor patient safety, perform ongoing head-to-toe assessments, manage tubes/lines, and assist with procedures as needed
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, discharge planning, and post-acute care needs
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals; may float to ED within scope to meet patient needs

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Kansas or a Compact license
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of hospital Med Surg experience
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and fulfill weekend requirements
• Strong documentation, critical thinking, and communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced inpatient setting
