On - Call Physician ( Per Diem )

Position Overview An urgent care in Concord is seeking a reliable and experienced On-Call Physician to provide clinical coverage on an as-needed basis. This role is ideal for physicians looking for flexible scheduling while supporting a fast-paced urgent care environment. The On-Call Physician will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, supporting clinic operations during peak times or provider absences, and ensuring continuity of care. Key Responsibilities Provide urgent care and primary care services for walk-in patients of all ages Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, minor injuries, and common conditions Perform and interpret procedures such as: Laceration repair Incision and drainage Splinting EKG interpretation Review and act on lab and imaging results Prescribe medications in accordance with clinical guidelines Collaborate with Medical Assistants and clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flow Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR Qualifications MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school Active California medical license (required) Board Certified or Board Eligible in: Family Medicine Internal Medicine Emergency Medicine Current DEA license BLS and ACLS certification preferred Prior experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care strongly preferred Work Schedule Flexible, on-call/per diem 10-12 hours shifts Coverage may include: Evenings Weekends Holidays Ability to respond to short-notice scheduling needs is preferred Work Environment Fast-paced urgent care setting with low to moderate patient volume Team-based environment with support from experienced Medical Assistants and administrative staff Opportunity to serve a diverse patient population in the Concord community Why Join Us?
