Cost Estimator Fabrication

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimating within a custom machining or fabrication environment. Our company will provide training on all software and processes unique to our environment. Responsibilities Read customer-supplied drawings and define the necessary processes to create items according to customer specifications. Determine the work centers to be used and the order of operations. Establish setup and run times for each work center. Record notes for each work center to enhance instructions and ensure successful completion. Define material requirements and calculate yields per raw material unit. Solicit quotations from material sources and outside services (e.g., plating, painting, silk screening, heat treating) as needed. Communicate with customers to clarify issues during the quote creation process, if necessary. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimating within a custom machining or fabrication environment. Strong attention to detail and thoroughness.
